Many of my lovely lady customers write to me after they purchase an antique wrist watch with a mechanical movement asking which is the correct way to wind a watch. They ask if it needs to be wound forward or both forward and backward. And they also ask how much should they wind it, how often should they wind it, and how to tell if there is real resistance at the end of the wind?

Have you been to a networking Chamber of Commerce Mixer, Leads Club or other Business Social Event and watched how some people run off with the mouth with tall tales, stories and go on and on about nothing.
Eventually they start talking about something or someone you know a whole lot about and you find that they are the biggest Bull Slinger you have ever seen? In fact this happens a lot at such parties and business get togethers and you can indeed learn something from all this; don?t do it.

There are essentially 5 important things to look for when purchasing a quality wristwatch in a brick and mortar store or online.
1-Image – Does the watch you are about to purchase reflect your personality, your style? Your watch should combine with your true character, not try to show someone you are not. Don?t try to elevate yourself by buying a premium, luxury watch, heavy and invasive; thinking it will make you look better, if it does not suit you, the opposite effect will happen. Make sure that if you buy an expensive watch it is for the design and quality. My personality being discreet and classic, I like a slim, elegant design, round dial watch with a leather band. I tried once a heavier Rolex type steel bracelet watch, I felt like everybody was looking at me.

Mechanical devices such as watch winders are designed to mimic the action of human arm movement to wind self-winding watches when they are not in use. It is also used to evenly circulate the lubricating oil present inside wristwatches, which is necessary for the proper functioning of automatic self-winding watches. Users who do not have requisite funds for a new watch-winding device can buy a used winding device that is relatively cheap.
